I’m a qualified International Mountain Leader and live sound engineer from the UK. My work keeps me close to my two favourite things: music and mountains- I love how both have a way of breaking down barriers and bringing people together.
When I’m not mixing at festivals or on tour, I’m usually up in the hills somewhere. My love for long-distance backpacking has taken me on unforgettable solo adventures across the Greater Caucasus Mountains, the Alps and the Pyrenees, as well as mountain regions in Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Mexico and Iceland. Connecting with people from different cultures and learning to travel in the mountains is what led me to become a qualified International Mountain Leader.
The thing I value most about guiding is helping others to find their own sense of freedom and self-expression in the outdoors. Whether I’m teaching navigation, sharing backpacking skills or simply encouraging someone to trust their instincts in the hills, I love seeing those moments where challenge turns into joy and connection. To me, guiding is about opening up wild places — and the sense of belonging they create — to people from all walks of life.
Perhaps my favourite adventure so far came in 2018, when I spent two months crossing the Greater Caucasus Mountains alone from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea. Along the way, I navigated tightly-controlled border zones in the North Caucasus region of Russia, whilst relying on Soviet-era maps and the kindness of local shepherds. My short film, Crossing the Caucasus, premiered at the Kendal Mountain Film Festival (2021) and is now available to watch on YouTube.
In 2022, I volunteered in the Glarus Alps of Switzerland, helping maintain local hiking trails for the cantonal community and hiking the Via Glaralpina long-distance route.
During 2025, I completed my journey to become a fully qualified International Mountain leader, and also walked the Via Alta Vallemaggia.
My writing and photography has appeared in UKC, The Great Outdoors and Trek & Mountain, where I’ve contributed feature articles, route guides and gear reviews.
Looking ahead to 2026, I plan to expand my experience as a guide while continuing to develop as a writer, photographer, and filmmaker — combining a passion for wild places with storytelling in words, sound and images.
